Ist Gott fuer mich so trete
gleich alles wider mich.
So oft ich ruf und bete
weicht alles hinter sich.
Hab ich das Haupt zum Freunde
und bin geliebt bei Gott,
was kann mir tun der Feinde
und Widersacher Rott.

Last night we used our new LSB's at home. We sang hymns and used the close of day section. It's nice to have it all in one book. Should look over the LSB more.

Sedes doctrinae Seats of doctrine, those verses of scripture which serve as the foundation of particular doctrines.
Legoumena- books of the New Testament agreed upon unanimously, to which there is no question of authorship or authenticity.
Anti-legoumena- books for which there is question of authorship, and authenticity, and therefore not unanimously accepted. (books that barely made the cut to be put in the same codex as the four gospels.)
Eusebius marks the books out well.

Aha, I understand the concepts, but have not heard the phrase.

Do other denominations agree or disagree with this and Eusebius?

Is James, then, anti-legoumena, or not?

I think Lutherans are about the only ones who still recognize these distinctions officially. This is why we really can't be fundamentalists by the way. Fundamentalists can't maintain distinctions and think that because the book is included between the covers of the Bible it has to be the inspired word of God. Rome canonized all these books at the council of Trent. And the reformed have followed Calvin (I believe) in considering them all as of equal value. Most don't know the history of the Canon we now have and so do not understand Luther's very cogent argument against it at all. They then pit James against Paul and go with James.
